Match Report Press Report

Winchester 4 Beat Fair Oak 2 in a close match.

With the away team having higher Gradings in 3 of the strings, Home advantage looked to be needed to take the win. Local knowledge duly defeated the statisticians and the home team came through for a good win.

On paper, the number 2 string should have been the closest, with only 57 ranking points separating the two players before the match. The Away player, Gavin Collins, did well therefore to secure the win.

It was the number 1 String which turned out to be the most competitive, with the Players battling out over a total of 87 Points ! Victory finally going to the Home Player, Mike Catling.

Player of the tie was the Away No. 4 string, Chris Leat, gaining 100 Ranking Points from the match.

Player of the match must be the Away number 4 string, Chris Leat, who over-turned a 426 ranking points disadvantage to record a great win.
