Match Report Press Report

Winchester 6 Lost to Lee-on-Solent 3 in a one-sided match.

With the home team having higher Gradings in 3 of the strings, the match was always going to be in their favour. The away team proved the statisticians wrong though by clinching a great win.

On paper, the number 3 string should have been the closest, with only 15 ranking points separating the two players before the match. The Away player, Alwyn Lewis, did well therefore to secure the win.

It was the number 2 String which turned out to be the most competitive, with the Players battling out over a total of 72 Points ! Victory finally going to the Away Player, Jason Ponting.

Player of the tie was the Away No. 4 string, Paul Lacey, gaining 100 Ranking Points from the match.

Player of the match must be the Away number 4 string, Paul Lacey, who over-turned a 496 ranking points disadvantage to record a great win.
