Match Report Press Report

Portsmouth Squash Vets 1 Beat Avenue Vets 1 in a close match.

With the home team having higher Gradings in 2 of the strings, the match was always going to be in their favour. This turned out to be the case with a Home win.

On paper, the number 2 string should have been the closest, with only 11 ranking points separating the two players before the match. Home advantage prevailed though, with Alan Martin winning through.

It was the number 3 String which turned out to be the most competitive, with the Players battling out over a total of 61 Points ! Victory finally going to the Home Player, Victor Ajayi.

Player of the match must be the Away number 1 string, DAVE THACKRAY, who over-turned a 94 ranking points disadvantage to record a great win.
